On May 17, the new product conference of AMSKY Sandstorm S800, China’s first sand type 3D printer with self-produced print head, was successfully held on the third Metal + Metallurgy China Expo 2018.

As a new star in the casting industry, AMSKY Sandstorm S800 (hereinafter referred to as “Sandstorm S800”), unveiled by AMSKY at this casting expo, has caused a heated discussion in the industry long before the conference.

As the first domestic brand who owns the piezoelectric ink jet printing technology with independent intellectual property rights, AMSKY always believes that the pursuit of leading technology and breakthrough, as well as the technology progress and accumulation, should be the persistence of an industrial technology enterprise. In terms of technology research and development, AMSKY has reached close cooperation with famous domestic universities such as Peking University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang University of Technology and Hebei University of Technology in many fields.

On the beginning of the conference, Yang Weidong, professor of Hebei University of Technology, D.E (doctor of engineer), master tutor, expert member of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China in the additive manufacture field and vice director of China 3D Printing Technology Industry Alliance, made the opening speech. Professor Yang said that as the first domestic sand type 3D printer with self-produced print head, AMSKY Sandstorm S800 had the overturning and revolutionary significance in the 3D printing industry at home and even around the world.

In the expectation of numbers of visitors, Mr. Li Mingzhi, chairman of Guangzhou Amsky Technology Co., Ltd., unveiled AMSKY Sandstorm S800 sand type 3D printer, which brought the first climax for the conference. Then Li introduced the main parameters of Sandstorm S800 and its six technical advantages, including print head self-produced supply, tailor-made feature, high precision, fast build speed, no filter and steel frame, and started up the device to demonstrate the real working situation of Sandstorm S800 for the present visitors.

Besides the advantages in parameters and technology, the deep significance of AMSKY Sandstorm S800 in the domestic sand type 3D printing device industry even cannot be underestimated. For 3D printing, casting industry transformation and upgrading, and the core technology, Liu Jinhai, professor of Hebei University of Technology, executive deputy director & secretary-general of Tianjin Foundry Association and iron casting technology committee of National Foundry Society, and professor Qi Haibo, founder of “3D Printing Joint Laboratory” in Shijiazhuang Tiedao University and director of Heibei Foundry Association, expressed their unique views.

At the same time, Mr. Li Mingzhi also said that AMSKY was expected to introduce the Sandstorm S4000 sand type 3D printer with 18 s/layer speed and ONEPASS technology uninterrupted printing within a year, which makes the visitors who are interested in 3D printing device excited and look forward to it.

Professor Liu Jinhai indicated that the Sandstorm S800 broke up the technical barrier and made the piezoelectric inkjet print head technology of 3D printing industry no longer be subject to foreign countries, which was a very memorable event. What’s more, Sandstorm S800 print head and its electronic drive were all independently developed by AMSKY, and the core components were optimized by CFD calculation means, achieving energy conservation and emissions reduction in the actual sand processing, and reducing the cost of consumables as well, which was the embodiment of mature technology of AMSKY.

In view of the commercial application of Sandstorm S800 sand type 3D printer, professor Qi Haibo said that sand type 3D printing was one of the representatives of patternless casting & precision forming technologies, but due to the core technology monopoly by foreign enterprises, the 3D printing technology was expensive. AMSKY had overcome the technical difficulties and solved the difficult cost problem of 3D printing device.

In the question and answer session with reporters, Mr. Li Mingzhi, on behalf of AMSKY, said that AMSKY as the new members of the casting industry hoped to make contributions to the commercialization of 3D printing technology and the development of China's intelligent manufacturing industry.
